Ashkanazi Jews from Europe have divided Judaism. The Orthodox, Ultra-orthodox, reform, conservative, constructionist etc. In early days, there was no such thing. In fact, about 150 years ago there was no such division. About 500 or 1000 years ago, Jews were Jews and most of them lived in Middle east and N Africa.
