Rick Owens, Spring 09

What do fog, nuns, Madame Grès, Leigh Bowery, Marianne Faithfull, Barbra Streisand and Kiss have in common? They're the deceptively random influences—among others, if you can believe it—that went into Rick Owens' spring '09 collection. And yet, oddly, it was his most pared-down show to date. Hint's Lee Carter caught the key looks on (a shaky) mini-cam, then dashed backstage for a candid Q&A with the Californian now well-ensconced in his adopted home of Paris.
