it's always possible to win without a weapon, but yes, without the flipper wbc is just a wedge. Wouldn't say useless, but nowhere near as good.

Why wasn't Wheelie Big Cheese allowed to use his flipper? Too powerful? (I've seen the video of Wheelie flipping a bot out of bounds from about the center of the arena)
