  • Sorry! I tried to delete that after typing it. I came to care for a family member suffering from dementia who won't move anywhere else, to keep her from having to go into a "home."

Manuals on caregiving warn that depression can set in.

Punta Gorda really is a lovely town, with very nice people in it.

I do detest the heat, but

I apologize for my terribly immature "pity party" moment, and I am SO sorry the deletion did not 'take.'

  • @gracefulfish No need to apologize. My father had dementia, and I know how difficult that can be for those who must care for them. It is important for you to get out sometimes and get away for a while. The heat will be be easing soon, so make that effort to explore the town and find all the little things that make it special. It's not the "big city", but you may find you actually enjoy what is NOT here and appreciate the small town charm. When you go out for a walk, people will say hello. ;)

  • I use to play at The Celtic Ray with a three piece Irish Pub Band. Great little town, I love it down that way. Nice folks.

  • @gracefulfish I'm sorry you don't like Punta Gorda. If you can't find anything to enjoy here, you really should consider moving elsewhere. Life is way too short to live in a place you don't like. You can tell from the rest of my videos that I enjoy sailing here. Charlotte Harbor is a great place to enjoy sailing year round! Beaches are nearby. Downtown has many interesting places to visit. Sarasota and Ft Myers are close enough to visit often. Turn off your computer, and get out there!
