Lesson 8 - Reading patterns can be tricky, especially when an author hasn't followed the standard rules of crochet abbreviations. More importantly you have to figure out if the pattern is written for North American or European Residents. What you think is not standard may be standard because crochet terms can be different depending on where you live. Understanding the astrix can be hard, but the best way is to sound out loud what its asking you to do, by doing so, you probably can figure the tricky patterns out. The only way to get better is to read more and more patterns.

I think you could have used highlighting to draw the audience's eye directly to the part you are reading. I find it helps me figure out a pattern when I read slowly and visualize the motions in my head. But it's still hard! Videos are so much easier :P
