Benny Goodman had a hell of a band all around. All the man cared about was getting the best musicians around up on stage, regardless of color. That took balls in 1939... balls and integrity.

Re the sax section - my memory may be failing me but isn't this the one where Benny plays alto sax in the section and *doesn't* take his usual clarinet solo?

@Hudsonburg I'm not sure, but it could be - BG's clarinet is certainly nowhere to be heard here.
This is the first I'm hearing of BG playing alto with his own band, though.
