Burma's democracy leader, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave her victory speech after she and her party, the National League for Democracy won 44 out of the 45 seats for parliament in the by-elections on April 1st.

    So inspired. I'm half Burmese and I've grown up watching her fighting for democracy. It fills me with joy to know they've come this far, and that it happened in my 85 year old mama's (grand mothers) life time.

    Aung San Suu Kyi is nothing but a giesha doll to the west. They invite her whenever they need an 'eloquent' speech on buddhism. But she is too old for them to be interested in her afterwards.
