  • I listened to the song again and I have officially decided; the instruments in the beginning just ruined the song. I'm sorry.. it just ruined the mood to the song. But when the instruments are supposed to come in (the "grandpa was in the war..."), that was great. And I agree with FCGDAEB54321... that part should have been swung more. but other than those, I liked the crescendos and decrescendos. =D

  • that was awesome!

I like the instrumental stuff, it sounds really good!

I'm actually a little disappointed you didn't swing the eighths at "Haven't got a notion how to stop the motion rolling to the ocean that's the magic potion", it's the best part! :P

it was still really really well done though :)

  • So glad i get to sing tenor for this song, all the other girls are jealous that i get so sing the grandpa was in the war part hahaha woot for having tenor, alto and soprano capabilities

  • hahaha we did the same thing for one rehearsal till i was like I think this is a typo!

  • @rhysnaylor :O really !!! Lol my choirs tenor and basses spent so much time remembering that ... now to find out it was a typo -_-.. but it still sounds cool :)

  • @bdol91 while the score does say COME, it's actually a typo. It was originally supposed to be CAME both times.

  • It sounds good... but our choir did this song a few years back and I would like everyone to go back, look at the copies and correct me if I'm wrong, but in the first verse... I think it's "...and when he COME (not came) back to Nova Scotia..." It's a picky little detail, but, good music is in the details.

  • I was in the BCMEA honour choir in 2002, 2003, and 2004....

Just wanna say this is great guys.

Congrats on making wildly difficult music sound so great
