Americans have 5 percent of worlds population but take 80% of the pills. We jail more of our own than any country in the world. Americans are brainwashged, radically, to be obsessed with 'hooking up', with sex.. and this came from TV / mass media, thats what my videos are going to be about - brainwashed faux-socialization. A society divided by its addiction to its own ass, etc. Culture is your local experience - and here attitudes change every 5 miles, any direction. Ruling factor is fear.
me again. I will make some videos about this soon (enough) and post. Honestly, these days culture has so much to do with local myths.. Northampton has a different 'culture' than Amherst. Montreal is greatly different (much more postive) than Boston. In Montreal, woman in mini-skirt simply likes how she looks and shows off, in Boston she is taken to be whore or threat to society. I maintain it really sucks in America. If you do research, you learn things. Like Americans are addicted to TV.
thank you for your comments, I was not aware aware of the data that is out there regarding this issue. Especially UMass that is a university where these issues are always contested, I thought it would be a good question to ask. I also wanted to see if there was a cultural factor in their ideal body image.
Someone at Harvard did a study and found that women prefer men who are 'average' rather than muscular like guys who workout to look muscular. Whats up though is mass media sells society ideals of image - for instance, 390,000 women get breast implants every year in the USA.. thats just nuts. Personality and expression, like body language and being a fun person, relates more to what people really like to find in each other. Folks need to live down the mass media / advertising ideals.
