Daniel Swann hails from Lanham, Maryland right outside Washington DC. Having never been indoctrinated by any religion, he found the nature of religious beliefs to be quite interesting. As he progressed in his education he became aware of the lack of literature critical of religion, especially the social effects that it has had on African-Americans. After graduating from Rutgers University with BA's in Philosophy and Sociology, he released his first book 'The Chains That Bind: How Religion Curbs Equality" which deals with the counter-intuitive phenomenon of African-Americans having the highest adherence rate and it's consequences. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Sociology from the University of Maryland.
