Dynamic lighting and shadows in the full release of Episode 2.

The lights in the map are not being done with the flashlight as in the previous video but rather with an entity set up in hammer.

  • @Doommarine23 he probably runs it on max at 320x240.

  • @nefets99 Hey protip, Cryengine 2 and 3 will never be able to be maxed out on that, I have an AMD 955BE and an 460GTX and I struggle to run Cryengine 2 on High. You're just making shit up and being aggressive to this guy for no reason. Games aren't held back because of some dude on an old PC, (as if he could stop being poor.) But because they're designed for Consoles.

    Srsly.

  • @nefets99 Firstly, the conversation we had wasn't about developers or anything like that.

And all I'm trying to say is that I like source because it runs on old hardware etc.

If you don't like Source, well it's ok, just don't be a dick and try to change everyone's minds. (And also change topic)...

  • @nefets99 Yes, the reason we don't update is that we don't want games to advance any higher graphically, I mean games have super graphics now they are just ok.

Yeah and ,um, I don't think most people will just waste money upgrading every month because new technology is out, I mean for god's sake it's enough already...

But since the conversation wasn't about technological progress and we appear to have flooded the first page of the comments section :P , I'll just (continuing)

  • @supergamer1221 Developers have to cater to the larger market that is completely retarded buying $700 prebuilt Hewlet Packard shit with $30 of hardware inside

People like you that don't even slightly update their hardware are why games haven't improved graphically whatsoever in the last four years

  • @nefets99 I'm not at any rate holding back technological progress, in fact I want to see technology go forward because you never know what kind of machines and stuff we'll come up with next. But anyway, back to the subject... You just CAN'T Understand what I'm saying here...I'm just saying that I like Source and that all engines should at least follow what has been done on source. In other words, I like Source , and that's my opinion...If you don't like it, don't be such a dick about it...

  • @supergamer1221 Cryengine 2 and 3 run fine maxed out on a 9600GT ($70) with an intel celeron G530 ($50)

Stop being poor as dirt and holding back technological progress with your stupidity

  • @nefets99 That's what I'm trying to say...However I am not a source fanboy, I like other engines as well for example CryEngine 2 and 3...They do look a lot better, but with the exception of them needing a monster PC to run on , and because a lot of people don't have enough money to buy a monster PC , source is just suitable...

  • @supergamer1221 Then pay attention to what you're replying to

Some blind valve fanboy was claiming source engine is the best engine in existence, simply because looking bad and performing bad made it run well on older computers.

  • @nefets99 Firstly, I didn't say anything about goldsource, and secondly the point I was making was that for the most of us source is good and we can cope with the small map size, low textures etc...
