The Battle in Sakarya starts on August 23, 1921, and lasts 22 days and nights without interruption...It was this battle when Mustafa Kemal Pasha said when the Greek Army breached Turkish lines: "There is no defence-line there is defence-surface, and that surface is the whole country". In fact it was a remake of an ancient cavalry tactic of Turkish armies, Kemal modernized and generalised it to modern armies, later in WW2, USSR also won the war against Germans by the help of this tactic.

@runescapesupersaiyin if you had read books then you will know the the pope(the whole catholics) they wanted to crush the Byzantium(third crusade for example) too not only turkey(muslims) so the empire had actually fallen at the 13th century as i said before if greece hadn't so many enemies back then (otoman-bulgarians-venetians-s­erbians .....)and in comparison to turkey had QUITE LESS things would DEFINITELY would have been different .PEACE!!

@polor89 Well you see who had more succes in their wars, Example look at the first war we had at 1071 and lets say howmuch damage that had, Howmuch damage at 1453 Or damage at 1974 at Cyprus, I don't hate greeks, Turks really asked for trouble back then, But it's quite interesting to watch an Empire grow and gain enemies cause it can't be downed, You bassicly let the muslim asians accress your holy lands and nothing you could do about it, I've read english books about Papa failing to stop them
