One of the charms of Bonaire living is the island's size. Being small, everything is accessible making it easy to enjoy the island's treasures. Yet, the island is still plenty big that it's next to impossible to see it all in just one visit. That explains why more than 40% of Bonaire's visitors have been on Bonaire before. The population is a mixture of more than 80 nationalities and ethnic backgrounds.

I was born here, unfortunately my parents choose to live in Holland. We still have a house in Rincon, one remark: Papiamentu is not a dialect of Dutch, but a Creole language wich has as basis 17th century Portuguese, mixed with African, Spanish and Dutch influences. So it is a Creole-Latin language. An European Dutchman would understand only the 4% Dutch words the Boneiranu use ( If he does not speak spanish/portuguese that is)
