  • Great tribute band....sounds awesome...don't take the below constructive criticism as an insult, only a suggestion from a Holly fan....

To the Buddy-lead.....Buddy only played guitar with down-strokes.....it's what gave his songs such a powerful sound, but also unusually hard to do....

  • @Itsthegr81 I hear ya and Buddy also played 25 minute gigs. I've tried the downstroke thing and there comes a point where you have to realize you are a tribute artist and you play your own interpretation based on how you play guitar. Downstrokes cause spasms when played more than 10-20 minutes (maybe not for Buddy??)

  • His mother suggested the song Everyday, but Buddy wrote the words and melody. The Celesta instrument was played in this song. The melody follows a chord pattern that is not found in any other Buddy Holly pieces. The song has the uncertainty of many of his songs. It is happy, optimistic, but still about love unfulfilled.

  • Vi Petty , the producer's wife played the celeste, but Buddy wrote the tune. He may not have always gotten credit but did write most of what he played.

  • my teacher is so stupid!!!!!!!! she said he didn't write his own songs!! and i was like where is ur brain he did to! post this coment if u agree Buddy is awesome!!

  • Holly's mother did suggest some of his songs the extent of which isn't really known except for the Holly Hop and Looking for someone to love (Drunk man, Street car, Foot slips, there you are)

  • @Itsthegr81 Yes are correct about how Buddy played. My dad worked at Tinker AFB in OKC Buddy played for the servicemen in a hangar. I was fortunate to be there right in front and I still have the pick Buddy gave me. All of it as I remembered he played with the down stroke. I was somewhere between 12 and 14.

  • WTF!!!!! He lives???!?he didnt die in a plane crash
