if you don't like the ideas of taking a critical look at games and making better games for everyone not just women, that's fine. but when you take it up a notch and vandilize others webpages just because....because then you have no ground on which to stand upon to whine. kindly fuck off and grow up.

sorry, i would have been interested in watching this but if you are basing your video on a quote by someone and you can't either remember or pronounce her name, I'm out of here.

I am dyslexic as well as I have processing speed issues. this does not belittle the point. frankly people are already basing her series before it's even made. so I feel I have more authority in commenting on the facts of what's presented rather then being a douche like the commenters she featured and judge a series before it's even been made. thank you for the comment.

The effects of the patriarchy are not symmetrical, so it's completely disingenuous to suggest that the problems faced by men and women gamers re stereotypes are the same. I say this as a queer, male gamer who is femme as all getup. Further, the harassment that Anita Sarkessian is not justifiable on any grounds. How disgusting. I'm ashamed to be a male gamer right now. That's probably the best explanation of the situation I've heard so far. Well said.

Don't know where to start here. Sexism affects everyone, yes. The patriarchy is damaging for people of all genders, yes, but let me lay down one of the key differences for you: men are not allowed to express emotions; women are assaulted (sexually and non-sexually), murdered, and harassed. The reason us men-type folk are constrained in our emotional expression is because emotions are considered feminine and weak; it is degrading to cry, because it is degrading to be a woman. [1/2]

Furthermore she has no right to censor the comments. If it is to that, then we might as well censor everybody, just because a few people said some thing they didn't like. This country was found on a double standard.

Thank you for posting this! Isn't strange that a group that cries out about Jack Thompson's activism as censorship seems to be engaging in the defacto censorship of someone expressing her opinion?

The sad truth is that there is a gamer contingent that uses games as escapist enablement for anti-social behavior. (Hence PA's Internet ****wad theory.) By their shouting so loud and behaving in ways worthy of bigoted hate groups, such people only help make Mr. Thompson's case to the general public.

I don't think she intends the videos to be a how to guide, nor does she claim to be the ultimate authority on the subject. The point is to draw attention to how women are protrayed, to make people think about it and maybe start a discussion. Then when people create new female characters they might remember these things and not make the same mistakes.

You keep using words. I don't think they mean what you think they mean.

Yeah taking a look at tropes is fine but she sucks at it in my opinion, in the bayonneta video she openly supports segregation...hmm she comes off as wayyy to know it all and hardly ever go's into depth on how to make a good female character . Also can a game/movie/book have no strong female characters without being sexist, I mean could we say the same thing about the lack of strong Asian or black characters in main stream movies?

I think now its the time for grown up men start to stand against male stereotypes too... It would be very good if a guy also started a project like Anita's. I wouls also support. I wish both genders could be respected..
