As christians we should try our best to obey God and be witnesses by telling others who do not know God about him and live a Godly lifestyle, BUT if we sin that does not make us become "unsaved" or no longer a christian.

YES being a christian IS just accepting Jesus as your savior. If that was not the case then WHY DID JESUS DIE ON THE CROSS FOR US???!!!!!!! One bible verse says it all John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son so that whosever believeth in him shall have eternal and everlasting life :)

hey! :) nowhere in those bible verses does it say that there is no such thing as a gay christian :) Jesus did not die for us SO we can sin....he died for us BECAUSE we sin :)

@jennifer45948 Bible verses on dying to your old self and stop doing your bad habits. As Christians, we must stop sinning. We may sin once in a while but we should not purposely sin. Being a Christian is not just accepting Jesus as your savior. You need to live your life for Jesus as well.
"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin" (Romans 6:6 NIV)

If the only way we can be forgiven is to stop sinning, then that defeats the whole purpose of Jesus dying on the cross for us, we will never be able to stop sinning, because that would make us perfect and there is only one perfect person and that is Jesus, the wages of sin is death, BUT Jesus paid that debt for us when he died for us, so we are all forgiven and free and on our way to heaven if we ask him to be our personal savior and accept him into our heart
