Undercover was a short-lived dance music group from the UK, who had two hits in the year 1992, which was generally a big year for dance-pop crossovers. The vocals on all the group's songs were sung by John Matthews.

It is generally thought that the group formed sometime around the time of the recording of their first single, which was in late 1991/early 1992. The first single released from the group was a cover of Gerry Rafferty's 1978 U.S./UK smash "Baker Street". It was immediately popular, and, within six weeks, had reached #2 in the UK Singles Chart, held off from the top only by another dance record, the rave anthem "Ebeneezer Goode" by The Shamen.

The group followed up with three more singles, only one of which also achieved top 5 success. The second single was a cover of Andrew Gold's "Never Let Her Slip Away", also from 1978. It reached #5, and stayed in the chart for a total of eleven weeks. After the success of these two singles, an album, Check Out The Groove, was released, reaching #26 in the UK Albums Chart. Subsequent singles did not fare as well. "I Wanna Stay With You" and "Lovesick", both from 1993, only managed #28 and #62, respectively, in the charts, while a new single, "Viva England", released in 2004, only made it up to #49. Since 2004, the group has pretty much faded into obscurity.

OMG Finally !!! I've been looking for this song since I was 13 too, Pacha Brasil Campinas-SP, Undercover Performed on October 5th 1996. I was there!!! A lot of good memories and nostalgia as well...I live in LA, Califa now!!!
