Ham radio contact (QSO) between the amateur radio station on the ISS (callsign = IR0ISS) an a school radio station (callsign = DN1WOL) in Ulm (South-Germany) received on 02-02-2011 by Uwe, DL8UF with a Kenwood handheld TH-F7.
Just a suggestion for the next time you listen to the ISS. I think the reason you lost them is due to the doppler effect. The space station is traveling so fast that it changes the frequency of the signal based on if its coming towards you or away from you. My suggestion, when you first hear contact have your radio at 145.850, then when that gets scratchy move to 145.800, then once that gets scratchy move it to 145.750. That accounts for the slight doppler effect. Hope that helps! KF7OIR
