  • My Da sung me this when I was a wee boy. I sang it to my daughter now 22 my son 7 and now my wee Molly 10months old. It is a timeless tune and always sends the bairns off to sleep.

  • a song by William Millar

  • I used to sing to my bairn too when they were wee.

Aparently the song was written by a Mr. Robert Coltard (died 1890) as an advertising jingle for an aniseed-flavoured sweet, manufactured in Melrose

  • Ahhh...fond memories of Jimmy when he played with Chas McDevitt's Skiffle, and of Robin singing to hushed audiences at the London Hootnannys, 'way back in the early 60s

  • I never could hear enough of these guys. Flowers of Scotland that will bloom forever!
