Hassidic reggae artist Matisyahu has released his latest album, titled 'Youth' and thousands of fans came out to support the release with a free show march 9th in Northridge, ca. With songs that delicately blend reggae, beat box and rap, the religious Matisayahu has been generating a lot of buzz ever since his last release 'Live at Stubbs' which brought him quite a bit of attention. We spoke recently with Matisyahu about the balance between being a novelty act and having his music, which gives a message of hope, taken seriously.

  • Wow, whilst listening to this guy who makes brilliantly uplifting music, people are arguing about goyim, saved or unsaved Jews/Christians. This dogmatic stuff is the exact thing that is going to separate us as a Human Family. When are we going to realize that there is ONE God/Creator, no matter to whom you pray? IMHO, religion like everything else has to evolve. Imagine if we all came together, what might grow out of that in Beauty and Peace. Perhaps that is the message of salvation we all need.

  • @Cypressmoon72 just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so was Christ lifted up...Without this "idol of the goyim", the jew will never be cleansed of his sin. Because you do not listen to His words, the Lord will call you to account...Read your torah bro and search Messiah.

  • @VL1016 leave christ out of it dude....the goyim and their idols!..ppfffttt

  • @VL1016 amen.

  • @dragszes Obviously,"Jewish genetics"have been mixed together over the ages, as they've been dispersed around the nations, & people "became Jews", but there is still a pure blood running through the mess(Read up on the The Cohanim Gene) Plus, meditate on scripture. It's amazing how many prophecies have come to pass. Truly, what's wisdom apart from God. That said, I'm ending my argument. But I just want to say that I respect you and i love you as a brother in Christ. I hope for the best man!

  • @VL1016 "The Jewish Almanac concurs: "Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a "Jew." Or to call a contemporary Jew [an] "Israelite," or a "Hebrew." The first Hebrews were not have been Jews at all, and contemporary Palestinians, by their own definition of the term "Palestinian," have to include Jews among their own people" (The Jewish Almanac, October, 1980, page 3, Bantam Books, Inc)."

  • @dragszes You are completely misunderstanding my comment. I am not proclaiming that the Jewish people are a saved people, but still a people of sin. However, throughout the Bible, the God of Abraham, who also exists as the Son, Jesus Christ, expresses His commitment to the Israel (the nation of Jacob, comprised of the Jewish people). In fact, God exclaims many prophecies pertaining to His beloved nation, the nation that He will eventually rule over during the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

  • @VL1016 first off in the earlier Bibles it never refers to jews because there was no such word.isrealite judean yes.only a fool believes these people are the chosen.Firstly didnt God say all men are created equal?secondly "John 7:1, "After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for He would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill Him." Thirdly ' them which say they are jews but are the synagogue of satan'The only way to God is through Christ and the jews dispise him.so no thanks
