  • Hi Emi, thanks for a great video you are such a wonderful teacher. Question: does that first slip stitch in the chain count at a stitch when following a pattern?

  • @TinkaC01 Hi Tinka... no, the slip stitch doesn't count as a stitch... it's sole function is as a connector.

  • @Hectanooga1 Okay thank you! Do you have to turn your work around after each round? And would you consider doing a video on how to change colors while crocheting in the round? I can do it, just not very well. You can see an irregular "seam" where I start the new round and add the new color.

  • @TinkaC01 Yes, you should turn after each round. Also, I shall put it on my to-do list to make a video on changing color.

  • You're a great reacher! Thanks for this tutorial :-)

  • @flutsax Thanks flutsax

  • THANK YOU!! Finally a video that is slow enough to follow, perfectly explained and very clear video. It really helped that you showed where NOT to crochet too. I have seriously watched video after video on here trying to figure out how to make a hat, none of them have come anywhere near the quality of yours. I finally know how to do it now : )

  • Hi Awebb5355.

At 9:01 in the video, that is the end of increase in stitches. From there on, you will be making 1 double crochet in each stitch around, and the work should begin to curl then.

Once you stop increasing, the work has no option but to curl. Could that be it? For the remainder of the work, you should have 40 stitches around for every row.

  • another brilliant and easy tutorial to follow, thankyou once again Emi x

  • @supermelodia Use worsted weight yarn as you did, and a smaller crochet hook... size 5mm will turn out a dense finished product. If you would like the bag to have a flat, firm bottom, cut out a piece of cardboard and place it inside in the bottom of the bag. (Use 2 layers of cardboard if you need to). Have fun! (Or crochet to fit over a plastic ice-cream bucket and place that inside.)

  • It's my first time I managed to make something in circle. It came wrong, totally wavy the edges, then I tried again. I just had to pay more attention to your steps.

So I am trying to make a bag to carry yarn to croche while I am standing/walking. So how do I make the bag's yarn stiff, do I have to use specific yarn, or I use very small hook. I used 6.50mm(J) and used yearn 4 medium. Another thing how do I linen inside the bag, cardboard, felt, what? So that it shapen up better the bag. Thanks.
