PLEASE READ: I am totally speechless- over 600 likes?! 0_0 - Thank you- so much!!!!! You guys are awesome! :D Since this one is so popular, I'm considering redoing this one- making it better quality with same scenes and setup, just big screen/HD, clearer picture, etc- would anyone be interested in that? Let me know. Since this was my first on this channel, I didn't know as much about vidding then and quality really suffers (sorry about that)...I did try to do it in HQ- for a while YT picked it up as HQ- then it changed back to regular during one of their updates- but here's the link in case it does start working again as HQ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hay3P4xZ60&fmt=18

After having this video stolen THREE different times by 3 different people (argh!), I've also decided to render it with my name (watermark) and put it on private on my other channel- so any would-be thieves reading this- just don't do it. If you do upload it and pass it off as yours, I'll make it public showing my watermark along with earlier date AND also have the one here with the 2009 date. I also have the older version (slightly different at end) on private on my other channel (and might do the same to all my other vids too). Just don't steal - It's not worth it. Thanks. :)

The quality isn't as good as what I use now (sorry) but it is smoother than the one I had on my honeyphan channel :) ... Also, WMM wouldn't let me get rid of the title credit at end I wanted to, the edit feature mysteriously disappeared- so now there are two- *shrugs*- oh well. :)

There is a story to ending- showing them looking out the window (she always begged him to let her into) - looking at themselves as children, and the children looking back at themselves in the future as "spirits", then running off, to become adults again, taking it to the beginning of vid- like a full circle. Symbolism showing an an eternity together. Yeah, I'm such a romantic sap. ;-) lol

Again- a tribute to a fantastic movie by Masterpiece Theater and a favorite couple and their love story- Heathcliff (Tom Hardy) Cathy (Charlotte Riley). Special thanks to fmg0279 for the WH clips.

Masterpiece 2009 - Emily Brontë

Wuthering Heights
lyrics and song by Kate Bush

Out on the wiley, windy moors
We'd roll and fall in green.
You had a temper like my jealousy
Too hot, too greedy.
How could you leave me,
When I needed to ... possess you?
I hated you. I loved you, too.

Bad dreams in the night
You told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my Wuthering, Wuthering, Wuthering Heights.

Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I´m so cold, let me into your window
Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I´m so cold,
let me into your window.

Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
On the other side from you.
I pine a lot. I find the lot
Falls through without you.
I'm coming back, love,
Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
My only master.

Too long I roamed in the night.
I'm coming back to his side, to put it right.
I'm coming home to Wuthering, Wuthering, Wuthering Heights,

Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I'm so cold,
let me into your window.
Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I'm so cold,
let me into your window.

Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
Ooh! Let me have it.
Let me grab your soul away.
You know it's me - Cathy!

Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I´m so cold,
let me into your window
Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I´m so cold,
let me into your window.

Heathcliff! It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home - I'm so cold.

It's me, I'm Cathy, I've come home ... so cold ...

  • @hellifairy - I agree. Tom Hardy did something all the others didn't do- though the others were good, and some very good. But TH depicted all of the facets of Heathcliff in a believable manner- from the loving and sensitive- with Cathy- to the volatile and dangerous to the vengeful and sarcastic to everything else in between. He was what I love in a male character- a complicated individual. Not all bad. Not all good. Multi-faceted like a rough diamond- yet the mystery always remaining alive...

  • Best Heathcliff I have ever seen, he is just like I imagined him, after reading the book when I was 15 years old, and now I am 46.

  • Tom Hardy as Heathcliff is unforgettable....sigh.....

  • @Rosamorrable Yes you are right. Ralph Fiennes version did a marvelous job in capturing the atmosphere cos that's the thing that drew me in when I first read the book. Without it the intensity is lost

  • @xane1990 yeah completely agree with you. This version seems to be too lively and bright. It is not faithful to the novel's gothic roots, which is actually the Bronte sisters' signature. I guess the version with ralph fiennes is closer to the novel's dark and heavily foreboding atmosphere. Truly, Emily Bronte who was so outwardly tranquil was surely impetuously passionate inside ... it's almost scary!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this adaption!!

  • For me Laurence Olivie is my Heathcliff but Tom Hardy did very well also don't get me wrong

  • I still love Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes the best.its Kate Bushe's song that make's all of them so good.

  • they remind me of Severus and Lily

  • am i the only one who thinks tom hardy is not hot??

  • this version is too bright and cheerful from the environment to the clothes...they just look wrong. WH is supposed to be dark, depressing and haunting and this one fails in that area. It only manages to focus more on the love between Heathcliff and Cathy something the other versions limited or cut out.
