I never really liked the sound of a humbucker in the bridge position, not even for hard rock. But that was what everyone else seemed to use so I just did what everyone else did.
Then I saw Tom Morello and i thought "If he can play some of the heaviest riffs ever with the neck pickup of a telecaster, so can I"

Many other bands sound like RATM ... for example Prong, Ministry, Tool, Korn, NIN, Murder, Inc., Pigface ... and some albums and/or songs by KJ, Soundgarden, Living Colour,, Helmet, Faith No More ... and Audioslave/Axis Of Justice/Street Sweeper Social Club... of course.
