I was at Midway Airport during this, waited on the Tarmac for over a hour waiting to take off, we never did, when this moved in all the planes had to go back to the terminal, and we took off again after it passed at 10:30

@stormtracker05 I'd have to agree with stormtracker05 here. I'm right by Harwood Heights and Park Ridge where this warning was for. Gusty winds for sure. But I don't think there's any way a real tornado would ever touch down in Chicago. There's too many buildings that interfere with the wind flow.

The funnel from this passed right over my apartment building-it was so low it looked like it was touching the roof (3 story building). It touched down a mile away at Stratford Mall, I think they said it was an EF1 or 2. (my first funnel sighting). This storm had the most intense lightning-it was non-stop for about 45 minutes and white-the flashes were white. I have not been able to find any other video of the storm that night-thanks!!

What was the warning's text?

It's always hard to imagine severe storms hitting Chicago, but it's actually quite common.
