"Throughout the country, 90 percent of cities and states are going to go bankrupt within the next five years, many of them sooner." So says former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan.

Reason.tv's Tim Cavanaugh sat down with Riordan to discuss state and local budget crises, public-sector unions, and why Riordan recently became a fan of current LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Approximately 9.40 minutes.

  • @kmg501 keep the neo-statist leftists out of Texas. They fucked up CA so ran to AZ and are fucking that state up too. Once they've destroyed AZ the remainder will retreat to TX to fuck it up. STAY HOME YOU SNIVELING LIBERALS. You idiots made your bed now sleep in it. Dont spread your failed ideology to the rest of the functional states.

  • @redlightmax well its not that they want public service jobs to be free. but alot of these jobs can work without taxes and work better might i add. for instance, lets use a teacher as an example...if we didnt have public schools, the idea is that it would be more efficiant ot have differnt educational companys competing for your dollar....you'd have better service, better teaching, better everything.. because of competition. competition creates chooses.

  • @KhmerD0g "how the hell are u going to take the oil out of iraq if the insurgents keep blowing up the pipes..." I told you the wars werent conducted properly. The goals of present war is to return control to the natives instead of looting and plundering it's resources.

"america has been trying to get the oil since 2003..." No it hasn't. Pay attention, the USA secured a small number of wells at the start of the war and returned control to iraq, that is all.

  • @tantrikwizard

how the hell are u going to take the oil out of iraq if the insurgents keep blowing up the pipes and machines and killing the workers??? america has been trying to get the oil since 2003 invasion and not very successful. u #FAIL to see that. haven't u learn anything from the hit-and-run attacks by the insurgents with IDEs and snipers on the american troops? it is too complicated for u to understand.

  • @KhmerD0g eh, sorry, Iraq is full of oil, plenty to pay for both wars. Strip mining Afghanistan would just be desert.

  • @tantrikwizard

and in the process destroy America. i love your thinking, destroy your own country. strip muslim of their mine and land are not enough to cover the trillions of dollars in defense budget. do the math. hahahaaaa

  • @KhmerD0g Ha, yea, libs claim a successful war was a waste. I say it was money well spent. Money is never wasted when it's spent killing fanatical muslims. We should conduct war like it was done 100 years ago, enslave the people and tax the shit out of em, loot the wealth, strip mine any valuable land and sell the rest to the highest bidder. War could be very profitable if it were done right.

  • I think he's ready to shed his skin suit. Are all republicans lizards or just the rich ones?

  • @joshua1auhsoj

Yes, I can see how it creates chooses.

  • @tantrikwizard

u should blame the chinese. they are easier target. #LOL the neo-statist leftists blame the neo-con right-wingers for wasting trillions of dollars on the war in iraq and afghanistan and destroying the middle class by lower tax rate for the rich people. #OMG

  • Amazing how stupid the American people are that they would rather argue like children while the crooks just keep on stealing everything they have....

  • @sarasan3 Companies that move jobs overseas hire even more people in the US than companies that don't. Zero-sum thinkers don't understand how this is possible. If you want as rapid growth as China, you should start by following in their footsteps and abolishing the capital gains tax. How would eliminating NAFTA solve anything?
