Kevin was an unscheduled welcomed guest on the Threadgills Music Fog stage at SXSW. Before he performed this song, he told the heart-wrenching
story of Marysville, an Australian town of 500 that was destroyed in the recent brushfires. Kevin said it only took ten minutes from the time the fire was spotted by townspeople until nothing was left. And 100 had died.
Kane Welch Kaplin was touring Australia at the time of the fires and wanted to do what they could to help. So goes the song Marysville written and recorded immediately after the tragedy. i was just on a 4 day cruise with kevin, he's a great guy, really fun to hang out with, down to earth, and all around a very decent human being. i hope to see him again soon. he is the #1 singer in america!!!

i seen kevin,kieran and fats in canberra we drove 3 hours to see them, but i would drive 10 hours if i had to, the words the songs the music that come out of there mouths is so good it makes hair stands up on the back of you neck come back to aus soon keep making great music
