This is a recording from LiveATC.net.

From What I can hear from the recording, this is the last flight that's under Continental's entity. In the near future, there will be no more Continental callsigns as Continental is merging with United. Since United is the bigger one, the future flights will be operated by United.

  • The ACTUAL last flight is taking off tonight in Phoenix, Arizona. Continental Flight 1267, a Boeing 737-800. At 12:07.

  • @Independent92x In aviation you must follow the orders and there are some for talking on ATC, no random chat are allowed, the ATC broke some rules on saying more then he was supose to say. The pilot was just beeing a pilot.

  • The controllers seemed sincere about it, and in some ways, poignant. The pilot of CO 86 Heavy, on the other hand, seemed unaffected, which is ironic because so many of his fellow employees were emotional about this last flight under the Continental name. I think he should have made a slightly more heartfelt parting remark.
