Stop the waste and stupid-spending first. Then close tax loopholes. Then, if the US must have new revenue, get millionaires off government benefits of any kind: farm subsidies, VA, Social Security, Medicare, green energy......then we'll talk about a national sales tax to get some money from crooks/illegals.........then talk about raising taxes after those things have been taken care of.

@Honeydoole Although Cenk is of Turkish decent, he was born in the US. He is NOT a Muslim, and said so many times on the show. I have heard him say several times that he was raised as a Muslim, but there came a time when he and his father read the religious texts and decided against it. He has actual criticized the practices of radical Muslims. Anyway I don't see what this has to do with American politics and economics.

Regarding the economy: not to flip your script, but has anyone considered that the collapse will be a good thing? Think of it. Douchebag bankers blowing up their own system of control so that it no longer works. The country, if not the world forced to reconsider a new way of doing things that doesn't involve the hamster wheel, useless jobs or destructive practices.
