Rafting, American River, Lower South Fork, Part 4 -- Class 3 rapids (helmetcam)

Our rafting trip after lunch and probably our first Class III rapids after lunch (unless some of the stuff in my "So Sideways" clip, which happens before this clip, counts as Class III). The main rapids in this clip are probably either "Fowler's Rock" or "Lost hat" and I think it ends right before we hit "Satan's Cesspool," unless the one that dumped us was "Dump Truck"

Shortly after this clip ends we hit a big rock (either Satan's Cesspool or Son of Satan, I think) and lost three of our crew members at once, then we had to pull them back into the raft. Unfortunately the rechargeable NiMH batteries in my video camera ran out about a minute before that happened so you don't get to see all the fun.

Moral of the story: if you go rafting with a GoPro Hero camera, use the expensive lithium AAA batteries! Or if you must use rechargeables, change to a fresh set at lunchtime.
