@MarineInfantry00 Apart of the Department of the Navy, which the Navy is a part of, as well. They are pushing to change it to the Department of the Navy and Marine Corps.

@USMCjunior117 Yes that is correct. However, their split was much like the Army and Airforce. We still use the Air Force for mobility just like the Marines use the Navy.

Well said, except that the Corps doesn't have its own funding. We get somewhere around 6% of the Navy's budget, which, in my opinion, is just a testament to the saying, "the army is better equipped, but the Marines are better trained."
