A new lid for the GSI Bottle Cup I made from a Bunn VPR Series replacement lid. I nest my Klean Kanteen bottle in the cup, then pack that on top of the lid, all inside my Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. Great for hunting, hiking, camping, bushcraft, survival, outdoors, coffee, tea etc...

  • That's a great find for that cup. Awesome!

  • @Ggreenvideos also fits the GSI minimalist as well.

  • @johncajunmanbrown You were saying it's stainless steel? Probably weighs as much as the original lid eh :o) My intention for this one in particular was to lose weight :o) Still a really great find though. I'm trying to convince someone right now to make the aluminum lids for the Minimalist :o) See how that goes. I'm sure they'd sell good.

  • @Ggreenvideos Yeah, mine is HEAVY but very sturdy and fireproof. Different aim from your Ziploc lid. I bet an aluminum lid would sell great, especially if you can keep it low profile enough to lay flat under the cup, so nesting could still work well (bottle in a cup, cup on top of a lid, in a sleeve pouch like...)

  • o_0 uhh is that a bone on the wall in the background or something else lol

  • @davidcoshatt01 Hmmm... I think you are seeing a hank of rope coiled up and around. I kept my animal trophies out of shot :)

  • Quarterman1973 on Youtube has a video with a plastic lid he found that fits perfectly. I think he bought it at Walmart.

  • Great to see other people are thinking outside the box and coming up with good ideas.

  • @johncajunmanbrown Well they'd most likely look like what you see for the beer can pots, Imusa pots, and the SnowPeak pots with some kind of small wooden knob, so it may not work ideally for your set up. Your lid is probably best for that :o)

  • Awesome. I will be ordering one ASAP.

  • I've used an aluminum-foil lid for over 30 water-heating tasks. Usually for tea and reconstituting Mountain House meals. I folded regular heavy-duty foil to be four-layers thick, then fold THAT into quarters, and stash on bottom of cup which is placed on the bottom of the Nalgene 1L bottle.

  • @johncajunmanbrown: Yeah, I've got to do some videos, it's been awhile since I've done any. I like the small diameter pots, 4" diameter. I have the Snow Peak Trek 700 and just he pot of the Snow Peak Mini Solo. As well as the Snow Peak 600 and the two GSI pots. They are all great pots and work well for what I use them for. Which is just boiling a couple cups of water. I would recommend any of them.
