  • One hit wonder? LOL! Just because you only know Lady In Red, that doesn't mean he didn't have more hits. Several albums were in the top 10.

  • Chris De Burgh is GOD. We all have to start worshiping him.

  • going 90 sounds excitine no matter how u sing or define it long as theres no pd to give u a ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have written this message in hope that my dear friend Milly may read it. I have been trying to locate her, but sadly I’ve had no joy. I know she is a fan of Chris de Burgh so I live in hope that she reads this message and contacts me. Milly previously lived in Folkestone and worked for my mother. I let the best thing that ever happened to me slip through my fingers, even if too much has happened for a relationship to develop, I would also be happy to have her as a friend.

  • great song!

  • SUPER!!

  • @eftekhar2006 He isn't GOD, he calls himself Chris

  • I love chris for his special romantic talent.

  • As far as the definition of 'one hit wonder' we'll have to agree to disagree but I would suggest the answer is in the question ! He only had one UK top 20 after LIR by the way.

As regard when his creative was, many reviewers/ fans feel it to be pre 86 but obviously others will feel different. It is subjective, there is no right or wrong answer.

  • With his albums Road To Freedom and Storyman, he went somehow "back to the roots". They are less mass compatible than his 90s albums.

  • "the phrase 'one hit wonder' relates to singles not albums."

No, the definition is slightly different. It doesn't mean that only hit singles are taken into account, but that the artist has just one hit single and is COMPLETELY unsuccessfull afterwards. Chris wasn't unsuccessful after LIR, he had several more hits, that's why he isn't a one hit wonder.

"but to many, his creative peak was pre 86."

I - and every hardcore fan I know, and I know many all over the world - disagree.

  • Why do I get a thumbs down for that? It's just a fact!
