In a press conference on August 3, 2006 Senator Nancy Riley announces her intention to change parties to Democratic. In this clip she shares some of the cut throat views of Senate Republicans.
Nancy stated "rather be in the majority than right". She fulfilled that statement by moving from the right into the majority Democratic party. She also stated, "It's all about making the other party look bad." She fulfilled that statement by switching her loyalty to the Democratic party. Now, she has lost her support base in District 37 and won't be in a position to help her constituents who trusted her and sent her to the Senate. At least we know who made the comments: Nancy herself.
She was voted in as a Republican and it's a shameful act of betrayal to her constituents to turn around in mid term and become a Democrat. They did not vote her in on that platform. If she wanted to switch her ideals and platform she should have resigned her seat and waited until she could run on that platform. It was a really underhanded thing to do to those she was chosen to speak for. She has no integrity.
She's a liar. She refuses to tell the source of said "comments". She's just making up this stuff as a tactic to try to justify being a Benedict Arnold. She was pissed that she didn't win the lieutenant gov. position and switched right after that. Besides, was she a Republican for the principles she stood for or because of comments other people make or do not make? If she can be swayed to change party affiliations that easily she never stood for her convictions to begin with.
