It came out in 1955, filmed during the summer of 1954. He was born May 31, 1930, so he was 24.

i really love the tattyness of the old 50s sci fi and horror films. who would have thought that Clint who has won over 100 awards including 4 oscars would start in one of them

Actually, Steve McQueen first caught attention for his role in The Blob. A young Jack Nicholson acted in B-Movies tool. He played a small role in Little Shop of Horrors and starred in The Terror.

More common than it seems.

Well...Everyone has to start somewhere. It is how you finish that counts. But you have to admit, Some of these old movies were classics!
