Part 2: Video of the climb. It is a two pitch C1 aid climb (or 5.12 free), where you'll want a hook, cinches for bolts without hangers, and a wide variety of cams fitting odd shape square piton scars from C4 camalot 0.3 to 5 (20ft offwidth on 1st pitch). Being tall is a plus.
The aid cruxes I believe are the offwidth on pitch 1, and the beginning of the 2nd pitch to reach the bolt ladder.

  • I'm glad some people still look up my video and enjoy it. Fun time except for the hike Haven't used my camera much since.

The people I was with that time just bailed from El Capitan. I'm sure they'll get to the top someday soon.

There is bolts for the tyrolean, and a good tree on the other side.

  • Anothe video to watch to put this into perspective:

    watch?v=l1CleGyAZlo

  • Kind of shaky footage but looks like it was a good time...

  • :) Sorry for the shake: Hard to film with one hand and climb with the other. I'm also new to miniDV.

  • @Tamyhen says you???? :/

  • i like the ascender from the eighties

  • Absolutely amazing... breathtaking views

  • Poor technique when you took the gear out. You should first take it out of the rock, then clip the snapgate not connected to the rope to your harness, then unclip the gear from the rope. That way, you won't drop anything.

  • hmm aid climbing;)

  • "What? No comments???"

My jaw is hanging down so low I can't talk.

  • NICE! Not an aid climber myself, but still a great climb ^^

  • hey playa. what gear do you have to leave for the tyrolean or is there a rap ring?

  • This trip\video looks awesome. man you must plan some to get through and so much gear and well safety ALL the way, ive been doing enough decending and some small climbs and been on trips that ive got a "1 hour rule". everything i start doing takes an average of 1 hour. eat, walk over there, decend a cliff and so on and so on :) i guess your trip took all day :) trip looks awesome! thanks for sharing
