Curiosity was good but couldn't lace these guys' boots. Ben VP did 1 excellent number but these boys did a few albums all at this level.

Saw them way back when in Glasgow's Barrowland with Tommy Smith on sax in the backing band - just brilliant. There used to be a stall in the Barrows where you could buy the bootleg tape the weekend after gigs - got it and lost it somewhere in between then and now!

This song was released in 1987. It is a reference to how a young man voted conservative for the 1st time in 1979 for a change..but 7 years later realised that he was conned...so hence the protest to "withdraw my labour of love" it is also a metaphor for the end of any kind of relationship that has come to a bitter. Check out the history of "Hue and Cry" - the singer Pat Kane is a very serious art critique these days. Peace. Tx
