  • Well... I am Indonesian. But I must say that... well, East Timor is now free and have their independence. Now they are standing on their own and we can't intervene it. Just let it be man, they are free.. Stop mocking them etc I don't care with East Timor.. Now we should take care our country first by wiping out the corruptions and those fanatics bastards (not all muslims just the terrorists) We can live in peace right? I have friends in M'sia and Aussie. Our troops was brutal but now r different

  • australian sense of fairplay and generosity... if east timor had broculi as resource australia wouldnt even send a pack of gum

  • now they are there again pretending to be the good guys, if i was timorese i would ask my gov to del only with ppl that helped not the ones who helped killing my fahter and my brothers

  • fretilin was never comunist they were pro democratic party and even wanted portuguese back to help the country reaching a level of independence and then leave, then the aussies talked to indonesia to invade the country reason so they could suck the oil as fast as possible

  • There was no colonial war against the portuguese!

  • people often seem to forget the east timor wouldnt be having these problems at all, if the americans hadn't vito'd the UN's vote for sanctions against indonesia when they invaded in '75. America is directly responsible for millions of deaths in east timor. you can't erase history, as much as people will try.

  • @Flexprint - I agree. Australia should let us Timorese live at our freewill at the land that is dear to our heart. I guess that is too much to ask considering oil has been discovered in Timor. Lets face it - Australia's so called aid and assistance never comes FREE. They don't have dignity either, in dealing with native Aborigin so why trust them now.

Soon, Australian companies will be like flies in Timor then their government would start dictating policy and Timorese would end up like Abos.
