  • one of the greatest songs of our generation {just listen to the words] Sorry all you Dudes and Dudettes but this is one of my favorite songs of all time

    \

  • @thewsca bill hailey was king

  • @thewsca Or how about the line "Just a come on from the whores on 7th avenue"... "I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome, I took some comfort there". Now THAT is song writing! He had a great voice too. He didn't need to jump around or look sexy or shake his pelvis to get the crowd going. His music was very calming and inspiring for the most part. Then of course theres the brilliance of his songs. Need I even try to express the brilliance and diversity of his so many songs?

  • @thewsca Ok I watched. Unless I watched the wrong video, it wasn't just Elvis and his guitar. He had some other musicians no? But yeah, the guy was a great entertainer for sure. Damned good looking man too and a great singer. BUT.... When it comes to pure musical talent, I have to go with Paul Simon all the way. He could play the guitar like few on earth could or can. His lyrics were as deep and thoughtful as they come. He rhymed words such as "unexpectedly" with "reassuringly". Continued...

  • @thewsca Fair enough. I'll take a look and I'll give you my honest opinion...

  • @buyerofsorts Have you watched Elvis Presley #68 One Night yet? It's just Elvis with his guitar.Just pure raw talent and no gimmicks.Take a look if you want to know the truth. You'll see why he's called the King.Take a look at the video and tell me who else could do that...

  • @thewsca Elvis wasn't good enough to carry Paul Simon's empty guitar case. Yes, Paul was a big Elvis fan and wanted to be like him but it was not for his musical ability. It was because Elvis was the king of cool, good looking and had all the chicks chasing him. So sure, Paul wanted to be him. But Paul's music blows away anything Elvis ever did. I'm talking about musical talent, not showmanship. Paul just sat on a stool, played and sang without any pretention at all. He seems to be very humble.

  • @buyerofsorts Paul Simon, yes big Elvis fan too.I wonder why?because he was the best and set the standard for all other performers to aspire to.Love Pauls Graceland album too.Take a look at Elvis Presley One Night With You #68,and tell me there's anyone better.

  • @thewsca Elvis hardly wrote any of his own songs and he was a very mediocre guitar player at best. He could sing and he was very good looking. True musical talent comes from being able to make beautiful songs. Ever hear of Paul Simon?

  • @buyerofsorts don't understand your comment.Meat Loaf loved Elvis as do Robert Plant,Ian Gillan,Roger Daltrey, because he was the greatest. If you watch him in his '68 Special he was awesome. He could sing any type of music he wanted and no one looked so good or moved so good as Elvis, when he was on form.He is the standard by which all performers are judged.
