That's the way it was in the 1960's (before the sexual revolution - quite ahead of your time) with quite a few couples. I remember being in my friend's bedroom and I did find it strange, too, that they had two separate beds. Anyway, maybe if couples slept in separate beds there would be less divorce. I suppose you would be surprised to know that royal couples sometimes sleep in separate bedrooms.
