Lemon Sauce
2 TBS. lemon zest
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cup sugar
6 TBS. butter
3 eggs lightly beaten

1. Combine in a heavy bottomed saucepan the first 3 ingredients.
2. Over a medium heat, stir and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
3. Temper the eggs in to hot mixture slowly.
4. Cook stiring constantly again for a few minutes to the desired thickness.

  • I agree...I have another lemon sauce recipe that is a lot lighter than that one meaning no eggs. I usually serve it warm with the Gingerbread Recipe. Let me know what you think. Thank you, Margie 1 cup sugar 2 Tbs. cornstarch 2 cups boiling water 5 1/2 Tbs. butter 3 Tbs. lemon juice 1 Tbs grated lemon peel 1. Combine the sugar and cornstarch 2. Gradually stir and add the boiling water. 3. Boil for 2 min. 4.. Stir in the butter and lemon juice

  • SUPER DELICIOUS...my husband and I made this to put over seasoned baked chicken and it turned out great! On the last step where you should cook it for 10 minutes after adding the egg, we only cooked it for like 3-4 minutes. Thanks for the recipe. I will tell everyone.
