The seventh series of Robot Wars was the final series to be broadcast, and unlike the others, it was shown on Channel Five. Past grand finallists Tornado and Firestorm faced domestic and international competiton in the fight for the seventh Robot Wars UK series crown, and a place alongside past champions Roadblock, Panic Attack, Chaos 2 and Razer. Aside from featuring 128 robots, the largest number of competitors since the third wars, a new house robot- Cassius Chrome was introduced. Series 7 also saw the return of Special Events, not seen since the fourth wars. Let the wars begin!
Robots competing in the 2nd Semi Final: M2, Grim Reaper, , Atomic, Storm II, Thermidor 2, Mute, Typhoon II, Firestorm V
Typhoon certainly far more deadlier than Hypnodisc. I seem to remember this series very well.

Another seed goes out. The 7th wars has to be the most memorable of all the series that I have watched since it started.

@SeriousGamer2009 well that's my point, i think it was more of a bias against storm II than anything - according to the storm II site mentorn had wrongly assumed they'd be entering the original storm (completely different robot) into the new blood championship and weren't happy when they brought storm II along. but i think they would've done whatever they could to mess with the results of the final even if it'd been tornado vs X-terminator to ensure the spinner wins.

On another note, I was pretty gutted when Atomic jammed their flipper open, they were my favourite flipper in this series (even though i loved Gravity) - i really wanted them to win, but that fucking angle-grinder ruined yet another great fight - remember S3 vs Dantomkia in series 6? >=(
I hope Robot Wars comes back and the Atomic team return, they have a real shot at winning it if that happens IMO.

@Blompcube Maybe, but there was definitely more to it than just "don't let a push box win", otherwise they wouldn't have put both of them together - pitting tornado against Storm II guaranteed one to be in the final, whereas pitting tornado against typhoon and storm II against XT meant there would have been a good chance of neither winning the torunament, IMO. I think there was probably some sort of background between the Storm II team and Mentorn, more than either let on.

@SeriousGamer2009 i don't think mentorn had any bias towards typhoon at all - i think they just didn't want another battering ram robot to win, and they never liked storm II for various reasons.

Storm 2 said on the website that the only robots they feared were Firestorm and X-Terminator... Well, shows they didn't need to worry, until they fought the battle with a robot who had Mentorn in their back pocket. =/
