This wombat has been raised by me from a very small size - 130grams. He was found after his mother was hit by a car and killed. My husband and I are licensed wildlife carers. Wombats are playful by nature as youngsters, normally being raised in pairs or buddied up where possible. Wes is now 3kg and starting to play, which is why he has a stuffed toy as a playmate. We are hoping to find a buddy for him soon which will make his release back into the wild less stressful. Wombats are not pets, as adults and teenagers they can inflict serious injuries to humans. If you find an orphaned infant, please contact your local wildlife rescue authorities to find a suitable carer. Wombats require special milk formula as they are lactose intolerant. This is the same for ALL Australian marsupials. NEVER EVER feed cowsmilk to these animals. Seek advice from those who are trained and hand the animal over to your local wildlife rescue organisation.

  • How do you own a wombat I thought you need a license or something?

Perhaps if you read ^^^^^ you would realise that this wombat is release on my property. I am a licensed wildlife carer and this video was taken when he was a baby prior to having a buddy and being rehabilitated for release back into the wild.

Wombats are not pets or toys, as adults they can be dangerous and need to be rehabilitated so they can integrate properly in the wild.

  • He's a common wombat :) Named Wesley, he's way way bigger now, around 18kg and finally got a buddy at around 3.5kg, they are inseparable now. Both are pretty much released on our property and come and go as they please.

  • Wombats as wild and dangerous to humans as panda bears i think. They look cute but dont think they wont attack you "out of the blue".
