Shure's Chad Wiggins introduces the new KSM313 and KSM353 Ribbon Microphones at the 2009 AES Show in New York City. Both mics feature proprietary ribbon material called "Roswellite."

  • I notice Shure state the mics are "Assembled" in USA. Like Audix mics are. Which sounds to me like the parts are made in china where they make their condensers. So essentially you're paying $2,500 for a chinese mic. I'll buy a $100 chinese generic ribbon mic and replace the ribbon thanks.

  • Both microphones are incredible. KSM313 really helps out on smoothing out harsh cabs and screechy guitar solos. We were impressed by its SPL handling. Tonoworks Studios, Puebla, Mexico. Proud user of KSM Roswellite Ribbon Technology.

  • 313 looks to be nicely versatile and the 353 looks good in general.
