When something heartbreaking happens, there is often nothing that makes sense in the moment. But sometimes, looking back, you can find God's fingerprints all over the situation.

  • i'm happy it worked out for you... but there are people who don't have a story to share... my sister died at birth and honestly, nothing came of it... good or bad... well bad cause my parents were shocked back then but that's about it...

    so... no... no fingerprints... :)

  • @PROdotes I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your sister. And like I said, there isn't such a nice and neat story at all times, but God can use the tragedies to shape us and form us or others. And sometimes we won't know the what part it played in the big picture until after this life is over. I refuse to believe that your sister's life did not have meaning in some way, but it might be easily apparent right now. Thanks for your comments.

  • The question "What good..." is irrelevant to the question of the existance of an Omnipotent AND all loving being.

Such a being could prevent all birth defects from existing without interfering with freewill.

The existence of birth defects is consistent with Atheism, Deism, Malevolent Theism and Benevolent (and finite capacity) Theism.

That good flowed from Connie's birth is fortunate, and expodentially valuable. Nothing more.

  • Some months ago I was diagnosed with a serious illness and went through months of swallowing many pills, waiting for the surgery. I had the surgery and now I am the way of recovery. Thank You Lord for saving my life. But still, my hope is that He uses this suffering I went through for His good purpose (Rom 8). No, I cannot make sense of it yet but I trust in Him to make sense of this suffering. I'll PM you for more details.

  • I love you, Pete. I love you.

  • @QuestionChrist well... i never met her, and my parents lost her just after birth so... no... can't say there was any meaning :)

still... by saying "god can use..." why believe it's god... i remember when i was younger i thought that everything in life had a reason why it happens... now i see what i was the one giving it meaning... X may lead do Y in life, but that doesn't really mean there's a greater plan... for me it just means stuff happens... soemtimes it's good... sometimes it sucks :)

  • Beautiful story.

  • This is the weak way of dealing with trauma and a poor method of reconciling the fact that while god may have gotten you out of a situation, he also put you in that situation. I always tell people, go ahead and let Jesus take the wheel *before* you spin out of control, and then go back and try to dust for god's fingerprints.

  • i don't agree with your assessment of the way god used everything for the good, but i am so not surprised at your profession. you have a really good heart and i am sure those people are loved. your a great dude. congrats on your 100th vid , your channel is great.

  • Thank you for sharing!
