The Advertising Council, in partnership with Autism Speaks, launched an innovative public service advertisements (PSA) featuring renowned fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. The PSAs are designed to help raise awareness about autism and to encourage the public to learn the early warning signs of a disorder that now affects one in every 110 American children. http://www.autismspeaks.org/signs

  • I mean it's all about the extremes, never reaching out to other people. It's all about the bloated autism diagnosis, which means so little yet covers so many.

  • @mitochondriamadness They have never said sorry for their demonisation of autism, which continues today with typical commentary about how much autistic people cost in medical bills among other things.

  • @chartfaker"Autism Speaks does not speak for me."

    Autism Speaks = Silence Autistics

Find an organisation that doesn't beg for credibility by celebrity exposure

  • @BaltoLoneWoolf not only that, and rsfff needsto listen to this, alison tepper singer wanted to kill her daughter in autism every day because she was autistic and didn't do it because of her "neurotypical" daughter. This what autism speaks supports murder of autistics and use of dangerous treatments and therapies costing hundreds of thousands of dollars to segregate us and possibly kill us with that type of treatment. don't listen to them and let autism speaks burn in hell for all eternity.

  • @rsfff,

Autism Speaks doesn't help us. I don't need their stinking help. If help means making stereotypes and fear-mongering ads about us, count me out. I bet you haven't seen the other videos, like I Am Autism or Autism Every Day, because you clearly don't know what I'm talking about. If you type in "Autism Speaks controversy" or "Autism Speaks doesn't speak for me", you will see why Autism is so hated in one part of the autism community. They don't want to help us. They want to wipe us out.

  • to the haters: My child has a RIGHT to speech, has a RIGHT to go to school and to college, has a RIGHT to be a part of society. You are not helping. You don't even realize all the money that's been thrown at you so that you could type today. Before ppl like this you were labeled mentally retarded and put in an institution to never bee seen from again!!! Learn about what you hate first before spouting off such hatred to ppl who want to help

  • @avidgames91091 I think your emotions are interfering with facts. you need to separate the two. When you have a child, you will understand. 60% of all marraiges fail. 75% of marriages will fail with twins. Up that with a disabled or different child with special needs. Does that mean that an autistic child isn't wonderful and great? NO but it IS a harsh fact of reality. It's hard to be a teenager, I get that but it is detrimental to a parent fighting for their child's life

  • @ninook2005 There is no prenatal testing that would show autism exept for fragile x which I don't believe they even offer

  • @BaltoLoneWoolf You misunderstand. Autismis not worse it is more prevalent. meaning you are more likely to run into a person with autism than who will die in a car accident and so deserves acknowledgement for whatever the person in question wants/needs in their life if just acceptance.
