"Art School Confidential" is a 2006 film directed by Terry Zwigoff. Starring Max Minghella, Sophia Myles, John Malkovhich, Jim Broadbent and Nick Swardson. Jerome, a kid from the suburbs who loves to draw, goes to New York City's Strathmore College for his freshman year as a drawing major. Competition and petty jealousy consume faculty and students, with an end-of-first-semester best-student award held out as a grand plum. Worse, a strangler is on the loose, killing people on or next to campus. The idealistic Jerome falls in love with Audrey, a student who models for life-drawing classes and who responds to his sweetness. But he has a rival: the clean-cut, manly Jonah, also a first-year drawing student, whose primitive work draws raves and Audrey's attention. As cynicism seems to corrode everything, Jerome is desperate to win.

This movie is just bad. The first 15 minutes has some sort of funny stuff about art school though its so exaggerated, then the rest with the murderer plot makes it simply boring.

@CharlieALabtech art is nothing more than any other job you do... the difference is, you can't learn "art" in a day... it takes time for an artist to master the skill. the thing is... no mater how much you practice it sometimes seem's that the most appreciated (and most payed for that matter) artist is the one that has mastered the art of bullshiting and cocksucking. that's what this movie is about.

I remember I took some art school and I thought it was bullshit so I left to study other things (ie: practical things). When I watched this for the first time, I was laughing my ass off and enjoying every hilarious but painfully honest moment of this movie. Don't go to art school. Watch this movie and teach yourself art. The movie is fantastic and you will achieve so much more in your personal studies.
