  • Ok yeah, see ,I said that in the video... so retelling it to me like I'm an idiot doesn't prove or show anything except how unintelligent you are. Congrads on making yourself look like an idiot! You win nothing.

  • how do you turn on the map? the at2600

    only has 2 buttons.

  • actually the Atari2600 only had 1 button on the controller. You pushed the button to see the map, and when you released it you'd go back to the game. The joystick controlled movement. Left and right turned you left and right, and forward sped you up, and backwards slowed you down.

  • the map made it easy, so around level 10 your map gets completely useless, you cant even see yourself in it.

You could tell which direction you were going by the arrow at the bottom left.

One of the better games for the atari.

  • i never said i didn't LIKE the game. And the map becomes useless by level 2 because certain Zots are not shown on it. I'm well aware of all of this.

  • Wow was the clip art shown in the vid the fan art you said you made? If so that looked pretty bad ass. Nice job.

  • I don't remember if I responded to this video before but TR was THE GAME! Rumor had it that somewhere within the game was a recreation of the programmer's apartment. Of course I kept trying to find it not knowing that was a joke.

  • This was very similar to 3D Monster Maze (which came first). Also 3-Demon. All had the same basic idea. Escape the maze without getting eaten. All of these games were basically pac-man in the first person and were all (including pac-man) pre-dated by Maze War which was created way back in 1974. It was Wolfenstein 3D that set the blueprint for what we now know as First Person Shooters but its really interesting to see the evolution from these simple maze games to the likes of Half-Life etc.

  • @Delmoko A Loser Is You

  • So that's... pacman's father.

  • PacMan-stein.

  • hey ppl that r bitching i hav an important message 4 u shut the fuck up!!!!!!!!!

  • I finished this game (with the ROM and the Stella emulator alright). Around run 50, the walls become all black, and the map shows VERY few things, so the game gets insanely hard, but still possible. Don't get me wrong, I had to abuse the save-states though.

The map still has some use, even if some things are missing from it. Zots are damn easy to avoid, and if you use teleportation doors frequently, you don't need to worry about the key either.

After level 135 or so, the game crashed...

  • Classic gaming at "it is" best, indeed. :D

  • I wonder if someone ever finished this fantastic game. I guess it didn't have an end since this is the 2600 we're talking about, but I still wonder after all this years if the game has an actual end.
