IB-7: Undulating Consecutive High-Speed Corners on Dirt

This is an example of how to achieve gold on this license test - recorded live. Played with a regular sixaxis controller and recorded with an HDPVR.

Tips:
I don't even know where to begin with this one. For anyone who has never played a rally game, you will likely struggle with this one.

Other than just practising this technical course here are a few tips...

The first downhill part of the course is fast so keep on the throttle. Try and drift out to the left of the road before making the entry into the uphill right-hander.

Now, this corner is about as technical as they come. It starts off as easy as can be but once you put your guard down it tightens up and sends you off in the rhubarb.

In order to account for the sharpness at the end of the corner you have to slow down at the beginning of it. Drag the brakes a little bit going into the corner and then ease off on the throttle to let your car settle.

Once settled, punch the throttle and angle your car toward the inside of the turn to pull yourself through the corner.

Once you crest the hill you want to start straightening out your car so you can accelerate to the finish line.

Yep that works! Turned on the 'RA Menu' and altered the 4WD setting to 50-50 by the first corner. Couldn't get past 19.567 before, now 18.975 easily!

I just couldn't do it that way. After about 20 attempts I decided to cheat by ploughing through the right hand side of the grass where there's more grip. Holding down the accelerator on full the whole way, I tapped the break button a few times and cut the corner completely. Did a 19.489. Not a great time but I'm still happy.

@Ymbstocc This option is helpful for all Rallye-Events.

Another useful option is the controller sensibility, you can adjust in the menu just before the start of a race. Especially for the NASCAR-Races. Put the sensibility on 7 and you can easily go through all curves.

It is also helpful to adjust the 4x4-value in the CTR menu from 30 to 40-50.

19,293 on the third try. After about 50 tries without changing anything.
