Rocker Bogie is a suspension system that is common among the Mars rover designs. It also finds its place in industrial engineering vehicles such as the motor grader. This system allows incredibly large objects to be climbed while keeping the vehicle body balanced. It is a simple design that relies only on gravity for applying forces necessary to keep traction. The major disadvantage to this design is the low speed required to keep the vehicle stable and upright.

  • wow, did u come up with that mechanism?

    pretty cool

  • Hahah, no rocker bogie is what all the mars rovers use. This is just a phun version of it.

  • Het man i like ur vids but i got a question or 2 umm. what was ur engine power set to and how did u keep the platform level like, what was the spring stregnths? thanx

  • Like 7 RPM's, 2000power. With rocker bogie, everything is gravity suspended. The springs here had minimum strength and maximum dampening. They were just there to keep the whole thing from bouncing and rocking.

  • i just made on with this suspention

  • cool 5/5

  • and good job

  • i get this mechanism

  • its called dampening with an a. it is how much energy the springs absorb. basically it is how long it takes the spring to stop bouncing :/ and no, it doesn't have to do with the strength of the springs.

  • hey what is spring dumpening >>>>???????

  • Where Did you put the springs?
