Kitchener's Food not Bombs group has been asked to stop distributing food in front of City Hall. The request comes from the owner of David's Gourmet, a new food store, who objects to the "undesirable" Food not Bombs patrons being in such a visible location (instead of someplace "discrete" [sic]) and objects to Food not Bombs's political agenda, and to their politicization of poverty and food insecurity in general.
This invitation is to do a bit of street theatre: show up in your most "desirable" outfit (suits for men, professional clothes for women) and show that everyone deserves the same amount of food security, and that no one is undesirable, or needing to be kept away from our city hall.
